A very good video showing how to tie a knot in piano wire. It is a tutorial using soft iron wire for practice.  For advance piano technicians, not for the DIY type of person how is just starting to learn how to tune their own piano.

This person is very knowledgeable.  Good training video for advance piano tuner-tech.

Hi,

I am thinking about starting a piano tuning business. I have played the piano for over 11 years now and know all of it’s functions. I was hoping a few of you could elaborate on what the “qualifications” are. Is there a class of certification or recognition I must take and exactly how would I truly learn how to do all the requirements needed for tuning and/or repairing a piano.

I know they exist but I’m confused on what exactly I would need or not need. Do they come with instructions or are they tools that only a professional would know how to use? Obviously I’m clueless and would appreciate ANY info on this subject.
